Tribe One to host open house, needs supplies

Tribe One is hosting an Open House on Thursday, March 24, 2011. They'll soon be under new leadership, and the open house will celebrate their new director and is a chance to see what they're all about!

From their site:

Tribe One's mission is to prepare under-served youth for active citizenship in their community through leadership development, educational enrichment, and entrepreneurial training within a supportive environment. Activities focus on a comprehensive and holistic approach to spiritual, mental and physical health; academic advancement; and social action and civic engagement. We see these as the most effective avenues through which we can motivate and activate young people toward their own strength and success.

Check out their Programs, which include growing a garden and even a little cooking.

In addition to volunteer opportunities for their after school programs, Tribe One is
always looking for supplies to keep the after school program going. They are currently looking for the following items:

- Art/ Craft Supplies- markers, crayons, paints, paintbrushes, glue, tape, construction paper, tissue paper, scissors, beads, buttons, popsicle sticks--the possibilities are endless!

- School supplies- lined paper, pencils, pens, erasers, notebooks, folders etc.

- Books to add to our library- we generally serve students 3-8th grades, bring us a copy of your favorite book!

Tribe One is located at 2112 East Magnolia Ave. Knoxville, TN 37902, Reach them by phone at 865-546-4131.
